The Veterans of The Vietnam War Inc., Millstone-Jackson Post 3 is recruiting local military veterans from all eras, all wars. The Veterans of The Vietnam War Inc. (VVnW) is a nationally recognized veterans service organization.
VVnW NJ Post 3 was chartered in 1991. In 2002, a Millstone unit was formed to help serve the needs of an honor guard detail for Millstone Township’s newly built Veterans Memorial. In 2003, VVnW’s Millstone Post 3 was instrumental in sponsoring a POW-MIA flag resolution in Millstone.
In addition to looking for additional color guard members, Post 3 is looking for new members to help serve Millstone’s veteran community by getting involved with such programs as its school lesson plan, titled "Dear POW-MIA," its Military Support Package program for U.S. troops serving overseas, and helping to support the organization’s Beacon House project, which provides supervised living quarters for homeless veterans in eight states.
VVnW welcomes all veterans and currently serving military into its ranks. Millstone Post 3 meets the third Thursday of every month at 8:30 p.m. at the Millstone Township Community Center, located next to the firehouse. Annual membership is $20 for veterans; dues are waived for active duty and reserve military personnel.
