Obituaries Anita C. Korrasik

Mrs. Korrasik, 82, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Marlboro, died of lung cancer July 8 in East Hanover at the home of her daughter. Born in New York City, she had lived in Long Island before moving to Marlboro many years ago. She began her career in 1958 as a part-time bookkeeper and retired in the early 1980s as vice president of Stribbons Ltd., a gift packaging company in New York City. An avid tennis and bridge player, she also enjoyed golf and was a stock market enthusiast. Mrs. Korrasik was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Samuel, in 1997; a son, James Michael; and a granddaughter, Jill Anita Korrasik. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Dena Korrasik Share and Howard Share of Clemmons, N.C., and Susan Korrasik Connolly and Dr. Adrian Connolly of East Hanover; two sons, Steven Korrasik of Hamilton, N.Y., and Kenneth Korrasik of Las Vegas; a sister, Helen Rubin of Sunny Isles Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren, including a newborn granddaughter. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on July 22 at Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, is in charge of arrangements. Theresa "Terri" S. Malko

Mrs. Malko, 75, of Farmingdale died July 13 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived in Colts Neck before moving to Farmingdale in 1961. She was a sales associate for Sam’s Club, Freehold Township. From 1953-78, she and her husband had owned and operated ABC Kennels, Farmingdale. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, as well as a former den mother for Cub Scout Pack 150, both of Farmingdale. Mrs. Malko was predeceased in 1993 by her husband, Budd F. Malko. Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Budd Jr. and Wanda Malko, Craig Malko, and Eric and Kathy Malko, all of Farmingdale; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jill and Alex McNerlin of Howell, Dona and Pat Harrigan of Bradley Beach, and Dina Malko of Howell and her fiancé, Joey Layton; her mother, Angela Palermo of Jackson; a brother, Frank Palermo of Cherry Hill; four sisters, Maria Magnaessone, Rosie Valencia and Frances Purkey, all of California, and Annie Prest of Oregon; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Catherine of Siena Church, with the Rev. Michael Vona officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale. C.H.T. Mrs. Marro, 95, of Freehold died July 12 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided there before moving to Freehold in 1998. A homemaker, she was predeceased in 1998 by her husband of 72 years, Michael Anthony Marro. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Sylvia Marro of Freehold, and Joseph Garone of Massapequa Park, N.Y.; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. Interment took place at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.

Mae Estelle Hicks

Mrs. Hicks, 68, of Howell died July 11 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Linden, she had lived in Millstone before moving to Howell eight years ago. Prior to retiring six years ago, she was a customer service representative for Sam’s Club, Freehold Township, for three years. She had previously worked for 30 years at Brockway Glass Co., Freehold, as a supervisor. Surviving are a son, Stephen Robert Hicks of Howell; a sister, Agnes Geades of Danville, Ill.; and two nephews, Andrew Scott Korzenok of Howell, and Michael Andrew Korzenok of Granville, Ohio. Graveside services were held at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan, with. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, in charge of arrangements.

Evan Leonardus Koch

Mr. Koch, 22, of Manalapan, died July 14 at home. Born in Freehold, he had resided in Manalapan for most of his life and had played Pop Warner football. While a student in the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District, he also participated in track, wrestling and football. A 2000 graduate of Carolina Springs Academy, Abbeville, S.C., he was an artist whose work is displayed in the permanent art collection of the Manalapan-Englishtown school district. He was a certified diver as well. Surviving are his parents, Conrad and Sara Koch; a brother, Andrew, at home; three aunts and two uncles, Marilyn and Kenneth Patrylow of Cape Canaveral, Fla., Beatrix and Doug Maitland of Columbus, Ohio, and Jackie Dawson of Bedminster; and six cousins, Steven, Daniel and Kenneth Patrylow, Jillian and Jacob Maitland, and Jessica Dawson. A memorial service was held at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan.

Valerie O’Keefe

Mrs. O’Keefe, 54, of Manalapan died July 14 at home. Born in New York City, she had lived in Mahopac, N.Y., Concord, Calif., and Sparks, Nev., before moving to Manalapan in 1982. She worked in the warehouse of Barnes & Noble, Dayton section of South Brunswick, for five years. Surviving are her husband, Joseph; three sons, Joseph, Scott and Daniel, all of Manalapan; her mother, Eleanor Gonzalez of Florida; and two sisters, Barbara Tomkins of Florida and Diane DiPiero of Jackson. A funeral service was held at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, followed by entombment at Marlboro Mausoleum.Ta Chun Yeh

Mrs. Yeh, 90, of Freehold Township died July 15 at home. Born in Wukiang, China, she had lived in Santa Monica, Calif., before moving to Freehold Township three years ago. She was a homemaker. Surviving are three sons, Yu Shuan Yeh of Freehold Township, Ya Chuan Yeh of Santa Monica and Chin Thuan Yeh of Potomac, Md.; a daughter, Ariel Young of La Jolla, Calif.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan, with Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, in charge of arrangements.

Eugene B. Fariello

Mr. Fariello, 67, of Marlboro died July 16 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, he was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. He was the owner/operator of Greenwood Bus Co. and Fariello Brothers Farm and Stable, both of Marlboro. He was also an exempt fireman of the Morganville Independent Fire Co., Marlboro. He was predeceased by his parents, Anna and James Fariello, and a brother, Frank Fariello. Surviving is his companion, Arlene Marter of Marlboro. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Joseph’s Church, followed by entombment at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport. Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.

Augusta W. Jeandron

Mrs. Jeandron, 93, of Freehold, died July 5 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Jersey City, she had lived there and in Newfoundland, Pa., before moving to Freehold five years ago. A homemaker, she was predeceased in 1990 by her husband, Harold Jeandron. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Paul E. and Diana Jeandron of Freehold; a grandson, John Paul Jeandron of Freehold; two granddaughters and their husbands, Suzanne and Bruce Newhard of Brodheadsville, Pa., and Nancy and Howard Aronowitz of Sunrise, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.

Michael S. Hudak

Mr. Hudak, 72, of Middletown died July 16 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Perth Amboy, he had lived in Keansburg before moving to Middletown. He was a body mechanic for High Hill Garage, Woodbridge, for 12 years; a tile worker for 15 years; and a salesman for Dosil’s, Middletown, for 20 years prior to retiring in 2000. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 2179, Middletown. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary (née Kalina) and Steven M. Hudak, as well as by his former wife, Janet D. Hudak, in 2004. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Hudak of Virginia, and Ronald and Gabriela Hudak of Keyport; a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and James Reynolds of the Morganville section of Marlboro; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Manny Dosil of Holmdel; and 11 grandchildren. Mr. Gutentag, 75, of Ocean Township died July 2 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born and raised in Newark, he had lived in Manalapan for 30 years before moving to Ocean Township 10 years ago. He was the owner of The Pantry (now Mom’s Golden Griddle), Manalapan, for 30 years, and later worked in sales for Siperstein’s paint store, Long Branch. He was a member of Jewish War Veterans, Newark. An avid bridge player and fisherman, he also loved to dance. Mr. Gutentag was predeceased 10 years ago by a brother, Robert. Surviving are his wife, Sonia; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Joan Gutentag of Topanga, Calif.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Amy Grassley of Ocean, and Marnie and Norman Levy of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a brother and sister-in-law, Sanford and Shirley Gutentag of Verona; a sister-in-law, Frada Gutentag of Clifton; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean. Memorial donations may be made to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Route 1 and College Road east, P.O. Box 2316, Princeton 08543, in honor of the medical and nursing staff.

Edna A. Franz

Mrs. Franz, 63, of Beachwood died July 3 at home. Born in Princeton, she had lived most of her life in Freehold before moving to Beachwood two years ago. She was a packer for Brockway Glass Co., Freehold Township, for 30 years. Mrs. Franz was predeceased by her husband, John J. "Jake" Franz, in 1999, as well as her parents, Florence and Andrew Weisneck, a brother, Raymond Weisneck, and a sister, Diane Boucher. Surviving are a son, John J. Franz of Beachwood; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Helen Lishman of Beachwood, and Barbara and Rodger Alexander of Bellingham, Wash.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Janette Weisneck of Beachwood, Edward and Linda Weisneck of Port Arthur, Texas, and Andrew and Barbara Weisneck of South Toms River; a granddaughter; many nieces and nephews; and close friends Todd E. Fein, Romayne M. Pitta and Madison R. Fein, all of Beachwood. A graveside service was held at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan, with Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, in charge of arrangements.

Helen R. Jordan

Mrs. Jordan, 98, of Freehold Township died July 4 at The Manor, Freehold Township. Born in Atlantic Highlands, she had lived in Eatontown before moving to Freehold Township’s Monmouth Crossing three years ago. A retired florist, she was a former communicant of St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Jordan, in 1982, as well as by her six siblings, Catherine, Margaret, Mae, Jane, Joseph and Edward. Surviving are several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
