EDITORIAL: Schools will miss Bruce McGraw

Assistant superintendent is instrumental in district.

After 25 years of service to the Lawrence Township School District, Bruce McGraw announced Tuesday he will retire from his post as assistant superintendent.
The township will be losing a knowledgeable administrator who has been intimately involved with key district initiatives like the five-year facilities plan and later, the long-range facilities plan. Board of Education President Phil Benson also called him the district’s "in-house expert on No Child Left Behind."
Clearly, the district will miss Dr. McGraw and we wish him well in his retirement. We also hope a coordinated effort between the school board, administration and community members will yield a qualified candidate to fill his shoes.
