The Junior Assault Roller Hockey team out of Aberdeen (Tab Ramos Sports Center) won the nationals championship, Bantam Division, in Taylor, Mich., July 1-5. The Junior Assault won a thrilling overtime game against Detroit Mission to get into the semifinals, then beat Long Island Black Ice, 6-3, to gain entrance into the finals. The team then beat the Buffalo Wings, 3-2, to win the national title. The team consists of Andrew Brodsky, Kevin Columbo, Mike Criscuollo, Ray Holmes, Eric Hornecker, Steve Martini, Brian Waitt and Adam Wolff.
Players interested in playing Old Bridge fall baseball 2004 (ages 9 through 15) must sign up in person on July 30, between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Cheesequake Baseball Field, off Route 9 and Schulmeister Road. The 2004 Rutgers Girls Junior Open, sponsored by the Rutgers Women’s Golf Association, will be held on Aug. 6.
