MONTGOMERY — Village Elementary School Principal Susan Lacy has received a 2004 Summer Opportunity Grant from The Principals’ Center for the Garden State, an affiliate of The College of New Jersey, the college announced Tuesday.
With the grant, Ms. Lacy will study horticulture, creating a garden and wildlife habitat to support the VES science curriculum and promote in students a sense of discovery, responsibility and appreciation for their natural environment.
Twenty-five principals were awarded the grant, and each is allowed to individually plan how to use it.
The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation funds the grants as part of its Fellows for School Leadership Program.
The Principals’ Center for the Garden State is an eight-year-old nonprofit organization dedicated to developing and supporting leaders of New Jersey schools. The center became affiliated with TCNJ in December and opened an on-campus office in March.
