Montgomery resident input sought for school committee

Community relations advisory panel to evaluate school board’s communication efforts.

   MONTGOMERY — The Montgomery Board of Education is seeking interested residents for its Ad-Hoc Community Relations Advisory Committee.
   Committee members will evaluate the board’s current communication efforts and provide recommendations for improving communication with the public. Participants should be able to commit their time to attend meetings and perform work between meetings.
   The committee will be formally appointed at the Board of Education meeting on Aug. 24. The first meeting of the committee will be held Thursday evening, Sept. 9. Subsequent meetings are scheduled for Sept. 30, Oct. 21, Nov. 11, Nov. 30, and Dec. 7.
   Between meetings, committee members will work in teams on specific projects. A final report including the committee’s evaluation and recommendations is expected to be submitted to the board on Dec. 14.
   Residents who are interested in becoming involved are invited to submit a statement of interest, which should include contact information, prior experience that may contribute to the committee’s work, the reasons the applicant wishes to participate on the committee, and areas that the applicant would like the committee to examine. The form below can be used for this purpose.
