Thomas I. Burenga, 88, of Pennington died Sunday in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township.
Born in Ridgewood, he resided in Sergeantsville, Pennington for 35 years, Cape Coral, Fla., and Ocala, Fla., before returning to Pennington in 2003.
A former machinist at DeLaval, Trenton, he later was a partner in the operation of Ringoes Feed Co., Ringoes, and then was a finish trimmer with Hunt & Augustine Construction of Princeton and with Horizon Homes, Cape Coral, Fla.
Mr. Burenga once was involved with the operation of the Black River & Western Railroad, Ringoes, was a past master of Ringoes Grange No. 12, Ringoes, and was past president of Hopewell Township Kiwanis Club.
Son of the late Klaus and Gertrude DeVries Burenga, he is survived by his wife of 67 years, Florence Fisher Burenga; two sons, Thomas Burenga of Litchfield, Ill., and William E. Russo of Olathe, Kan.; two daughters, Barbara Anderson of Titusville and Beverly Burenga of Hopewell; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Union Cemetery, Ringoes, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington.
There will be no calling hours.
