The Historical Society of Princeton will hold its annual black-tie gala, "Visions of Vanished Vistas" celebrating the Stony Brook Valley, on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 7:30 to midnight at the Cherry Valley Country Club in Montgomery. Cocktails at private homes in Princeton will precede the dinner-dance.
The Reverend and Mrs. David McAlpin will receive the 2004 Individual Leadership Award for their dedication to preserving Princeton’s past. For their gift of furniture from Einstein’s home to the society, the Institute for Advanced Study will receive the 2004 Institutional Leadership Award.
Co-chairs Megan Thomas and Robert Olson, along with the benefit committee, have been busy planning what promises to be a splendid evening with music by the Maggi Hill Band, a 50/50 raffle, and live and silent auctions. This year’s auction items include a weekend get-away at Jasna Polana; dinner for six catered by the Ferry House at the Grover Cleveland House; a custom-designed, hand-painted mural in the winner’s own home; architectural consultation; a Miele vacuum; antiques, artwork and gift certificates, and more.
To date, Bristol-Myers Squibb and PNC Bank/PNC Advisors are Platinum sponsors. Stevens & Lee and Wachovia Wealth Management are Gold sponsors. Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corporation, Maximillian Hayden Architect, Inc., Pharmacopeia, Princeton Construction Group, Inc., and U.S. Trust Company are Silver Sponsors.
