I am writing in response to your article on Aug. 4 and the many other articles regarding Ron Tornberg, who was badly injured on June 30 as he responded to a first aid call in Marlboro.
Your writers have been very quick to constantly reiterate how Ron was not wearing his seat belt. That fact has been established. Enough said.
Perhaps it would be more humane to tell your readers how on a warm summer day, on his day off from work, Ron was responding to a first aid call when he could have been home relaxing.
As a volunteer, Ron has responded to hundreds of calls at all hours of the day and night. However, your writers seem to neglect the act of his volunteerism and the good deed he was providing to our community. Let it also be said that the article stated he was discharged from the hospital. The inference is that he is home enjoying the rest of the summer. Why not accurately state that this dedicated man is now facing a long and arduous recovery from this horrific accident?
