Christ Church Episcopal, Shrewsbury, and The Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury will sponsor the 34th annual “Shrewsbury Corners Antiques Show and Sale” Sept. 10 and 11. The event will be held at the church house at 352 Sycamore Ave., with hours Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The requested donation is $6; appraisals will be $5 each. The show will feature 30 dealers. Costumed guides will conduct tours of Christ Church and the Presbyterian Church both days, and the Shrewsbury Historical Society on the grounds of borough hall will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. Additionally, the historic Allen House and its herb garden will be open from 1-4 p.m. (fee charged for the building).
Eatontown resident and actress Lorraine Stone will portray abolitionist Sojourner Truth in a one-woman show Sept. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Quaker Meetinghouse, Route 35 and Sycamore Avenue. Stone is the former director of Trinity School for the Arts at Trinity Episcopal Church, Asbury Park, and field membership director for the Monmouth Council of Girl Scouts, Farmingdale.
