Billy G. Rymer

Mr. Rymer, 69, of Long Branch died Aug. 19 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Cleveland, Tenn., he had been a resident of Long Branch since 1958. Mr. Rymer operated his family’s business, the Long Branch Poultry Farm, for several years, and was known as the “Chicken Man.” He served with the U.S. Army in both Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Rymer is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Susan Rymer of Long Branch; two brothers, Bobby Rymer and James Ratledge, of Cleveland, Tenn.; four sisters, Faye Rymer, Sue Rymer, Trish Ratledge and Betty Brown, all of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, and his former wife, Ann Reimann-Bell. Edward J. Musantry

Mr. Musantry, 76, of Ocean Township died Aug. 11 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in New York City, he resided in Matawan before moving to Ocean Township 11 years ago. Mr. Musantry was a records manager at Drexel Burnham Lambert, New York City, for 42 years, retiring 14 years ago. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived is by his wife, Lorraine Nelson Musantry; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Albert Del Maestro of the Lincroft section of Middletown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Linda Musantry of Oceanport, and James and Nancy Musantry of Pennsylvania; a sister, Dorothy Bornatici of Old Bridge; and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch, followed by interment at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. The Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, was in charge of arrangements. Russell James Macaluso

Mr. Macaluso, 71, of Oceanport died Aug. 24 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Oradell, he had resided in Red Bank before moving to Oceanport five years ago. Mr. Macaluso was a founding staff member at Monmouth Regional High School, Tinton Falls, where he was also employed as director of pupil personnel. Employed at the school for 33 years, he was a math teacher and guidance counselor before becoming director. He also served as the school’s first baseball coach and was responsible for the creation of its first baseball field. Mr. Macaluso served with the U.S. Navy following his graduation from high school in 1951. He was a 28-year member of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association while refereeing basketball games throughout Monmouth County. He enjoyed golf and baseball, and was an avid Yankees fan. Mr. Macaluso was predeceased by a daughter, MaryEllen Macaluso. He is survived by his wife, Diana Beronio Macaluso; a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Anita Macaluso; a brother, James Macaluso of Delray Beach, Fla.; a sister, Lenore Main of San Jose, Calif.; his former wife, Carolanne Macaluso of West Long Branch; two grandsons; a stepson; and a stepdaughter and son-in-law. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at the Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven, followed by interment at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. The Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, was in charge of arrangements. James A. “Uncle Jim” Tobler

Mr. Tobler, 89, of Long Branch, died Aug. 24 at home. Born in New York, he resided in the Bronx, N.Y., prior to moving to Long Branch 35 years ago. He was a loan supervisor at Chase Manhattan Bank for 30 years, retiring in 1965. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his niece, Roberta Tobler Traversa; a grandniece; and three cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, West End section of Long Branch. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. Memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, P.O.
