Ledford L. Powell, M.D., a thoracic surgeon whose office is in Freehold, has joined the medical staff of CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Powell was previously at the University of California at San Francisco Medical Center, where he was a cardiothoracic fellow the past two years. Before that, he was a research fellow at the University of California at Irvine Medical Center in both cardiothoracic surgery and vascular surgery. He earned his medical degree at the University of Rochester in New York. He is certified in advanced trauma life support, advanced cardiac life support, and pediatric advanced life support.

Rutgers Mini-MBA Business Essentials Certificate program will return to Freehold Township Sept. 28-Dec. 14. The program is designed for professionals and managers seeking a deeper understanding of business and a better understanding of how various functional areas of organizations relate to one another, and for those considering an MBA.
The 12-week program features focused learning experiences around 12 subject areas, including business strategy, finance, marketing, law, ethics and organizational change.
