The Knights of Columbus, Long Branch Council 335, will be holding the “First Sunday of the Month Breakfast” this Sunday at the Knights of Columbus at 670 highway 36 from 8 a.m. to noon.
The all-you-can-eat breakfast will include pancakes, eggs, sausages, bacon, bagels, apple and orange juice, coffee and tea. The cost will be $2 for children under 12 and $4 for adults.

Monmouth Cares on Bath Avenue is scheduled to hold an open house on Oct. 17 from 1-4 p.m. The rain date is scheduled for Oct. 24.
The open house will include pony rides, a petting zoo, a balloonist, a face painter and a pumpkin painting booth. The Long Branch Fire company along with the city’s police DARE department will be there.

At the 22nd annual Monmouth County Drunk Driving Task Force awards ceremony on Sept. 22 at Branches in Ocean Township, two Long Branch educators were recognized, according to Jerry Hanlon, the director of special projects for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
John Perri, principal of the Long Branch middle school and Bea Coleman, who works in the library at the middle school, received awards for their commitment to education and prevention of underage drinking and driving.
