On Campus

Kathleen Kowalski Batchelor, daughter of Debbie and Walter Kowalski of East Brunswick, recently earned a doctor of pharmacy degree from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. A member of Phi Delta Chi pharmacy professional fraternity, she has accepted a position as head pharmacist with RiteAid, Bethesda, Md. She is a 1998 graduate of East Brunswick High School.

Lee O. Alvarez, son of Lynn and Oscar Alvarez of East Brunswick, recently graduated from the University of Scranton (Pa.), where he earned a bachelor of science degree, majoring in health administration with a minor in business and Spanish. While at Scranton, he served as president of the Student Health Administration Association and captain of the golf team and was selected as a member of Upsilon Phi Delta, the National Health Administration honor society. Alvarez recently began graduate studies at New York University Wagner School of Public Service, New York City. He is a 2000 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School, Metuchen.

Todd R. Singer, son of Colleen and Bob Singer of South River, recently graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in management and finance. While at Georgia Tech, he was a member of Chi Psi fraternity, where he held the position of athletic director. He is a 2000 graduate of South River High School.

Cadet Joseph Michael Alexander, son of Barbara and Anthony Alexander of East Brunswick, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y., where he recently completed his freshman year. He is a 2003 graduate of East Brunswick High School.

Gerald P. Oliveto, son of Carol and Gerald Oliveto of East Brunswick, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Rutgers University College of Engineering, New Brunswick, where he is majoring in civil engineering. He is a 2001 graduate of East Brunswick High School.

Rebecca Haupt of East Brunswick was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon, where she is a senior majoring in history and secondary education.

Ryan Jones, son of Donna and Frank Jones of South River, has been named a diplomatic corps guide for the Office of Admissions at Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Pa., where he is a senior majoring in psychology. He is a 2002 graduate of South River High School.

Lauren Diane Horvath, South River, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Middlesex County College, Edison. A business administration major, Horvath is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa-Upsilon Gamma International Honor Society, and was also named to the national dean’s list.

Rick O’Brien, Spotswood, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, Pomona, where he is majoring in biology. A 2003 graduate of Spotswood High School, he is the son of Maryann and Rich O’Brien.
