3 charged in prostitution sting

MANALAPAN — Following an investigation by members of the Manalapan Police Department’s Detective Bureau, three women and 13 men were arrested for crimes related to prostitution.

According to a police press release, Sonmun Kim, 45, of Freehold, Kyong Hui Peterson, 38, of Moorsetown, and Guang Yu Yuan, 40, of Flushing, N.Y., were arrested on Oct. 8 and charged with prostitution and promoting prostitution.

“After receiving several complaints, an investigation was begun which culminated in the arrest of three women who were charged with prostitution and promoting prostitution,” Capt. Lou Moreto said.

Members of the Manalapan Police Department and the Keyport Police Department executed a search warrant at Accupressure Massage Therapy, Route 9 north, just north of Gordons Corner Road.

Police said a sting operation was set up at the business that resulted in the arrest of 13 men between the ages of 24 and 63. They were issued summonses for soliciting prostitution. Police did not release the names of the men.

Everyone involved was released on the evening of Oct. 8.

The investigation by the Manalapan detective bureau was headed by Detective Samuel Britton and Detective Joseph Moreto.
