The Northern Monmouth County Branch of the American Association of University Women will present “Someone Must Wash the Dishes: An Anti-Suffrage Monologue” featuring actress Michele LaRue on Monday, Nov. 1, the eve of this year’s elections on Nov. 2. The Shore Regional High School Class of 2005 will be hosting the annual Senior Class Fashion Show, “Viva Las Vegas,” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3, in the gymnasium of the high school in West Long Branch. At Creatures of the Night, the Monmouth County Park System’s annual Halloween season hayride, area residents of all ages can investigate nature’s mysterious creatures that come out at night. Monmouth and Ocean counties are teaming up to combat ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease, at the 9th annual MDA Phil Villapiano Field of Hope Gala at the Garden Manor in Aberdeen Oct. 23.
The gala is a black-tie dinner and celebrity sports auction. Items to be auctioned, both live and silently, include: ticket to Late Night with David Letterman, a John Madden signed hockey stick, and a two-night stay at the W hotel in New York.

On Sunday, Oct. 31, The Grove in Shrewsbury will hold its annual Children’s Halloween Parade with line up beginning at 10:30 a.m. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Talbots.
The parade will follow the sidewalk to Banana Republic, where the parade will end. After the parade, Starbucks will serve hot chocolate to participants, and all children dressed in costume are invited to Trick-or-Treat at the stores in The Grove, located on Route 35.

Red Bank RiverCenter, the downtown business alliance, is looking for a 20 – 25 ft. evergreen, preferably blue spruce, to use as downtown Red Bank’s Christmas tree for the 2004 holiday season.
Each year RiverCenter sends out a request to the public to donate a tree that will be displayed from Nov. 22 to Jan. 7 in the downtown. RiverCenter covers the cost for the removal of the tree, and the donating individual or family are recognized at the Red Bank tree lighting and Holiday Express concert planned for Nov. 26.
The tree will be removed from the donors property and installed in Red Bank on Sunday, Nov. 21. Anyone interested in donating a tree is asked to call RiverCenter’s office at (732) 842-4244.
