Singer and stand-up comedian team up for inspirational seminar

‘Speaking of Life,” a motivational seminar, will be presented Oct. 23 in Borden auditorium at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.

The event will feature country recording artist Kevin Sharp and stand-up comedian Paul Jon.

Platinum recording artist Sharp is known for such No. 1 hits as “Nobody Knows,” “If You Love Somebody,” and “Measure of a Man.” He is a childhood cancer survivor and his inspirational story has made him a popular speaker.

Comedian, songwriter, author, father of three and husband, Jones battles mental illness — bipolar disorder. Once afraid to tell anyone how he felt, he now is speaking up about mental illness.

A meet and greet will take place at 1:30 p.m. and the seminar will begin at 2 p.m. and run until 5 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for the seminar only, $35 for the meet and greet/seminar.

Jason’s Dreams for Kids Inc. is making 100 tickets available to the seminar.

Jason’s Dreams for Kids was founded by McGinnis in 1992 in memory of his nephew, Jason Douglas Creager, who lost his battle with cancer at the age of 17. The organization is devoted to granting wishes to children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.
