The Township Committee unanimously passed an ordinance Tuesday correcting an earlier law limiting stopping or standing on portions of South Woods Road.
The ordinance prohibits stopping or standing on the southbound portion of South Woods Road from the northern-most entrance of Woods Road School south to 75 feet north of the north curb line of the southern driveway of the school. The ordinance calls for the ban to be in effect from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. According to Deputy Township Clerk Anne Marie Fuccello the newly passed ordinance corrects an existing one that failed to include the southbound side of the road.
The ordinance also extends the stopping or standing prohibition to the northbound side of South Woods Road from the intersection of Hillsborough Road to a point 900 feet south from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The ban had only been in effect from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Residents had been complaining that cars were blocking their mailboxes and garbage cans, according to Ms. Fuccello.
Now, the ban will be in effect through the afternoon, Ms. Fuccello said.
