Volunteers needed for Red Cross bloodmobiles

The Jersey Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross, Tinton Falls, is currently recruiting volunteers to help work at bloodmobiles in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Hours are flexible, and volunteers are only needed for five hours two to three times a month.

Duties include registering donors, escorting donors from the donor area to the refreshment area, and working in the refreshment area. Also needed are volunteer drivers to be part of a team that picks up and delivers blood donations from bloodmobile sites in the Jersey coast area to the Musser Blood Center, Philadelphia.

Individuals must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record, and be dependable. There is a reimbursement program for mileage expenses. Training is provided by the American Red Cross at the volunteer’s convenience.
