Vincent Maruca

   MANVILLE — Vincent Maruca died Oct. 11 at home. He was 78.
   He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he resided until moving to Manville 41 years ago.
   Mr. Maruca, a retired planning scheduler for Johns Manville Corp. where he had been employed for more than 22 years, was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He served in Guam and Japan from 1944 to 1946 and was discharged as petty officer third class.
   He was a former member of the Manville Youth Athletic League where he had served as commissioner and managed the Minor League Mets.
   Mr. Maruca is survived by his wife, Florence (Hodgson) Maruca; his a daughter, Nell Maruca of Piscataway; one son, Eric Maruca of Miami; a brother, Damiano Maruca of New York City; two sisters, Alberta Santangelo of Simi Valley, Calif., and Frances Kolb of Southampton, Pa; and one grandchild.
   A memorial service was held Oct. 16 at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, Manville.
