Malls invite children to celebrate Halloween

Youngsters are invited to dress up and celebrate Halloween at Brunswick Square Mall, Route 18, East Brunswick, and Menlo Park Mall, Edison, from Oct. 29-31.

Pumpkin-decorating contests, sponsored by the Sentinel newspapers, covering East Brunswick, Spotswood, Monroe, Helmetta, South River, Milltown, Jamesburg, Woodbridge and Metuchen, are planned from 4-6 p.m. on Oct. 29 at both malls. The carved and decorated pumpkins will be judged, and the winners will vie for pairs of free tickets to the mall movie theaters.

Local children will have the opportunity to make a Halloween craft at Menlo Park Mall from 1-3 p.m. on Oct. 30. Youngsters may have individual photos taken for $10 each to benefit the Simon Youth Foundation.

Mallwide trick-or-treating at participating retailers is planned for Oct. 31 from 3-5 p.m. at Brunswick Square and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Menlo Park.
