Candidates line up for election night parties

An alternative to watching the results at home.

   For citizens seeking an alternative to watching the election results at home tonight, local political parties will host various election night get-togethers.
   The Princeton Community Democratic Organization will gather at its headquarters at 20 Nassau St. (with street entrance at 2-4 Chambers St.) at 7 p.m. and than walk to the Princeton Public Library. The library is hosting a community election night event and has invited politicians at all levels to drop by. The library will stay open until the election results are final.
   The Republican Association of Princeton will meet at Conte’s Bar and Pizzeria, 329 Witherspoon St., at 8 p.m.
   Montgomery Democrats can be found at the residence of Barbara Devaney, 108 Updikes Mill Road, starting at 7:30 p.m.
   The Montgomery Republicans will gather at 8:30 p.m. at the Princeton Elks Club, Route 518.
   In Rocky Hill, the independent candidates will meet at the Washington Street Station after the polls close.
   The Rocky Hill Republicans will be at the Sante Fe Grille at the Rocky Hill Inn at 8 p.m.
   U.S. Rep. Rush Holt (D-12) will have his election headquarters at the Trenton Marriott, which is also serving as the meeting place for the John Kerry for President New Jersey effort. The party will start at 8 p.m.
   Bill Spadea, the Republican challenger in the 12th Congressional District, will be at the Mercer County Republicans’ gathering hosted by Doug Forrester, a former Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, at the Princeton Hyatt on Route 1 in West Windsor at 8 p.m.
   In the 7th Congressional District, which includes Montgomery and Rocky Hill, Democratic challenger Steve Brozak will be at The Westwood, located at 438 North Avenue, Garwood, at 8 p.m.
   Rep. Mike Ferguson will be at the Grand Summit Hotel, 570 Springfield Ave., Summit, at 8 p.m.
