Theft of child’s playhouse upsetting to residents

For the past three years our family has participated in the annual scarecrow contest in Freehold Borough. This particular year was very special because we had planned and prepared our entry for months before the actual judging.

Our theme was based on “The Wizard of Oz which included Dorothy and her dog, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion and the Tinman. We even had the Wicked Witch of the West on the roof of our house and a spray-painted Yellow Brick Road leading to a cardboard Emerald City.

Our final touch was the use of our 2-yearold childs Little Tykes playhouse to represent the house that fell on the Wicked Witch of the East.

Our preparation was rewarded with a firstplace ribbon for our neighborhood block.

Imagine our shock and anger when we woke up the following Monday morning to find that our childs playhouse was taken from our scarecrow scene in our front yard.

We are so disappointed that someone would be that cruel to steal from a child. There can be no mistake to think that the playhouse was put out for trash for someone to take. Imagine our attempts to explain to our child why the playhouse was gone. It broke her heart. To the person or persons who took our little girl’s playhouse, please bring it back with no questions asked.
