The city Police Department is accepting applications for the position of crossing guard. Part-time and full-time positions are available. Anyone interested is welcome to stop by the police station, located in the rear of the city Municipal Building on Farnsworth Avenue, to fill out an application. Police are looking for the burglar who reportedly stole nearly $2,200 worth of jewelry from a Farnsworth Avenue home on Oct. 27.
According to police, the owner of the 300-block residence came home from work to find a jewelry box out of place and all of the jewels missing. Police said there were no signs of forced entry to the home.

Police are searching for two masked men who robbed a city gas station at gunpoint on Nov. 1.
According to police, two men in black hooded sweatshirts and wearing ski masks walked up to the attendant of the Exxon station at Route 130/206 and Crosswicks Street around 5:50 a.m., pointed a revolver at him and demanded money.
Police said the robbers got $330 in cash before running off toward Route 130. The attendant was not hurt in the incident.

BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP
A blue 2002 Ford Mustang was reported stolen from the Edgewood Motel on Route 130 at about 2 a.m. Nov. 6, police said.
The owner of the car said he was staying at the motel that night, when a female guest stopped by and stole his car later in the evening, police said. The woman may be a resident of Trenton, police said.
A clothing store manager, an employee and another man were charged for their involvement in an alleged shoplifting scam at the store on Nov. 5 at 8:12 p.m., according to police reports.
At the time, A police officer was on patrol in the area surrounding near the Fashion Bug clothing store on Route 206 , when he noticed Michelle Leto, 18, of Trenton carrying multiple bags of merchandise out of the rear side emergency exit door toward a parked car, police said.
After Ms. Leto spotted the officer and ran back inside, the officer called police headquarters for back-up backup and then approached Christopher Lewis, 24, of Trenton, who was sitting in the car, police said. Mr. Lewis said the 17 items of clothing that Ms. Leto was carrying out belonged to his girlfriend and he did not know anything else, said police.
When the officer went inside the store and asked Ms. Leto for the receipts for the clothing, she admitted that she was stealing the clothing from the store, police said.
But after the officer spoke to the Fashion Bug district manager, she said that the company would pursue charges against Ms. Leto, Mr. Lewis and the store manager, Kelli Swift, 20, of Hamilton Township, police said.
According to the district manager, the rear emergency exit door was deactivated at the front counter by the manager’s key, which should be secured in the store safe, police said.
Ms. Swift said the safe was unlocked since she had started her shift and she was not aware of the crime taking place, but further investigation revealed that the emergency exit door chime was ringing at the time that Ms. Swift and Ms. Leto were in the store, police said.
Ms. Leto was charged with shoplifting, and Ms. Swift and Mr. Lewis were charged with conspiracy to shoplift, police said.
A couple from Maryland was charged with shoplifting $36.05 worth of merchandise from the Pilot Truck Stop on Route 206 at 8:10 a.m. Nov. 3, police said.
After Kevin Johnson, 46, and Jacqueline Johnson, 39, of Pasadena, Md., left the store, the manager ran after them looking for a receipt, and vowed to call the police, according to reports. Before the police officer arrived, Mr. Johnson came back in the store and offered to pay for the merchandise, police said. This merchandise included food items, Tylenol bottles, vitamins and sodas, police said.
When the police started investigating the incident, Mr. Johnson said he did not know who the woman was and that she had left the area, police said. Police officials later found Ms. Johnson, who had run down Rising Sun Road to the Petro Truck Stop, said police. The two were charged and then sent to the Burlington County jail in Mount Holly in default of bail, police said.
A Bordentown City man was charged with driving while intoxicated after getting into an accident on the lawns of two houses along Georgetown Road at 1:25 p.m. Nov. 4, police said.
According to police reports, Patrick Moore Jr., 21, of Prince Street was traveling west on Georgetown Road, when he rode onto the lawn of a house and struck a mailbox at the passenger side. Mr. Moore continued for about 130 feet before striking a tree on the lawn of the house next door and coming to a stop, police said.
When police arrived at the scene, Mr. Moore, who had sustained injuries to his face and head, was trapped inside the car, police said. The front passenger had already exited the car and complained of pains to his left arm, police said. A third passenger, who had left the scene of the accident, returned soon thereafter, police said.
Mr. Moore and the passengers were all transported to Helen Fuld Medical CenterCapital Health System, Fuld Campus, in Trenton, where a blood test determined that Mr. Moore had been intoxicated at the time of the accident, police said.
