FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — The PTO at the Marshall Errickson School, Elton-Adelphia Road, is planning to hold a Ladies Shopping Night Out at the school on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.
According to Donna Herbert, who is chairing the event, the Ladies Shopping Night Out is designed to get residents and the owners of small businesses together for a little shopping.
“It’s a community service project, a way for people with small businesses to get their name out there,” she said, adding that organizers have more than 30 vendors signed up to attend the event.
“I’m amazed at the diversity,” she said, noting there are representatives of a basket company, as well as people who sell Tupperware and Pampered Chef products.
“We also have a grandmother who does stained glass, a woman who does homemade chocolate as party favors, a man who turns photos into video slide shows, jewelers who design their own jewelry and wine glass charms. In addition, we have someone who does machine embroidery, a person who makes decorative items for the home, someone who makes scrapbooks and a graphic artist who personalizes cards and charms,” Herbert said.
The shopping night will be held in the Errickson school cafeteria. Refreshments will be served in a separate room. Sales from the event will go to the business owners, but each vendor has been asked to donate an item to a raffle that will be held at the school’s fun fair in February, Herbert said.
