Congregation Neve Shalom, 250 Grove Ave., Metuchen, will hold its annual Scholar-in-Residence Weekend Nov. 19-20. The scholar-in-residence will be Rahel Musleah, whose father was a rabbi in India for several years. Musleah is scheduled to teach both historical and anecdotal experiences of the Jews of India and will soon be releasing a CD of their music. She will speak at the 8 p.m. service on Nov. 19 about Jewish Calcutta. At the 9:30 a.m. service on Nov. 20, she will discuss “Torahs and Tiryahs,” and there will later be a complimentary luncheon catered by a kosher Indian restaurant (advance notice needed). YMCA to sponsor events for ‘Active Older Adults’
The Metuchen Branch YMCA will sponsor the following events for its Active Older Adult program for those ages 55 and old
• Dec. 1 — A trip is planned to the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse to see “A Playhouse Christmas 2004.” Bus will depart from Metuchen Municipal parking lot at 9:45 a.m. Tickets are $56, which includes transportation and choice of five gourmet lunches.
