4 face drug, weapons charges

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — A motor vehicle stop led to the arrest of four people just after 10 p.m. Nov. 5 at the intersection of Route 9 and Elton-Adelphia Road.

According to information provided by police, Issach Powell Jr., of Freehold Borough, Muammar Jeter, of Freehold Borough, Tamyah Brooks, of Lakewood, and a 15-year-old from Freehold Bor-ough, were charged with multiple offenses.

Those charges are possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) — a narcotic, possession of CDS believed to be marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute and possession of under 50 grams of CDS believed to be marijuana.

Powell was placed in the Monmouth County jail, Waterworks Road, in default of $100,000 bail. Jeter and Brooks were released.

The juvenile was placed in the Monmouth County Youth Detention Center, Dutch Lane Road, according to information provided by police.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Freehold Township police officers Richard Hudak, George Burdge III and Jack Mandala, and Lt. Lawrence Loos and Detective Francis Boutote responded to the scene. Detective Sgt. Chuck Ward of the Freehold Borough Police Depart-ment also responded.
