The Lakewood Branch of the Ocean County Library, 301 Lexington Ave., offers many free programs and events for adults, teens and children every month.
A highlight of the library’s programs this month will take place Dec. 1 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. “Cookies From Around the World” is an edible celebration of the December holidays observed by the different religions and cultures in Lakewood and around the world. Cookie contributions are welcome. Those interested in participating should visit the front desk of the library for details.
Free blood pressure screening provided by the Ocean County Board of Health will take place at the library Dec. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m.
In addition to book discussions, computer courses and various programs, the library offers English as a Second Language, English conversation groups, and movies in both English and Spanish.
