Ocean County will hold its annual holiday tree-lighting ceremony Dec. 1 on the front lawn of the county administration building, 101 Hooper Ave., Toms River. The ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m., following the 4 p.m. Ocean County Board of Freeholders meeting. A March of Dimes ambassador will light the tree, and music will be provided by the Christ Episcopal Hand Bell Choir.
St. Joseph Schools plan Reunion Weekend
Plans are under way for a Reunion Weekend to be held May 20-22, for alumni of St. Joseph Grade School, and St. Joseph/Monsignor Donovan High School in Toms River. Alumni family and friends will be welcome to attend any and all events.
The weekend’s events will kickoff with a 21-and-over Pizza Night on Friday, May 20, at Monsignor Donovan High School. The evening will begin at 7 p.m. and will include pizza, adult beverages, music and fellowship. ID’s will be checked at the door. Tours of the high school will be available.
Family Day will take place May 21 at the Fun Town Pier in Seaside Park. Guests will be able to purchase wristbands for all-day, unlimited rides.
The Beachcomber Bar on the boardwalk will be the meeting place for all alumni and will offer discounted food all day for participants.
Following noon Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, May 22, alumni and guests will be invited to St. Joseph Grade School for a continental breakfast. Tours of the school will be offered.
