SEA BRIGHT — The First United Methodist Church of Sea Bright will host a free, community concert celebrating “The Joy of Christmas” featuring nationally known Christian musician and Middletown native Nancy Scharff at 7 p.m. Sunday inside the church at 1104 Ocean Ave.
All are invited to attend the concert which is intended, not only to mark the beginning of the holiday season, but also to remind the community at large of the true meaning of Christmas according to Rob Long, the church’s pastor.
“It is easy for the spirit of Christmas to get lost in the busy-ness of the season,” Long said. “We planned the concert as a meaningful and fun way to start the Christmas season.”
Children are welcome to attend the concert with their parents and take in many traditional sounds of the Christmas season.
Scharff, a renowned vocalist, musician and songwriter, will also perform some of her own original material accompanied by the “King of Kings Praise Band and Singers.” The back-up band and singers are part of the music ministry at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Middletown, where Scharff serves as music director.
The church is located at the corner of Ocean Avenue and Church Street. Refreshments will be served following the concert and a free-will offering will also be taken.
