Harmon, who attends Jackson Memorial High School, was among 82 young jazz musicians selected to participate in the program.
In its eight season, Jazz for Teens, sponsored by Wachovia, is designed to instruct New Jersey’s teenage musicians in jazz. The participants were selected at comprehensive skill and knowledge auditions held at NJPAC last March as part of the Arts Center’s Young Artist Talent Search.
Led by music director Don Braden and program advisor Art Martin, the program offers individual instrument and vocal master classes as well as classes in jazz theory, jazz listening and ensemble.
