Denow Road extension has been completed

The Denow Road project, which extends the road westward to Route 31 south of the Pennington Circle, has been a key part of the master plans of both Mercer County and Hopewell Township for several years.

County Executive Brian M. Hughes has announced that the extension of Denow Road to Route 31 has been completed.
"This project was delayed for too long, and the final chapter has yet to be written in determining the costs and expenditures associated with it," Ms. Hughes said. "Despite these challenges, what is most important is that a vital passageway has been completed, a road that will ease the commute of our residents and pave the way for increased economic opportunities expected in the area."
The Denow Road project, which extends the road westward to Route 31 south of the Pennington Circle, has been a key part of the master plans of both Mercer County and Hopewell Township for several years. The road was a key condition of the approval of the Brandon Farms development and was included in the I-95/I-295 Transportation Development District Plan as a key component. The cooperation of the business community was a key factor in the project’s completion.
"At the end of the day, this project’s successful completion will mean better access to economic opportunity for township residents, and for the county," Mr. Hughes said.
In the past several months, the project entered its final phase with completion of paving, the installation of a traffic signal at the corner of Denow Road and Route 31, and other needed improvements.
