Selma Bagat Rohrbacher
BORDENTOWN Selma Bagat Rohrbacher, died at home Dec. 7 at the age of 86 after a long illness. She was a resident of Bordentown Township for 58 years.
Born in New York City, she grew up on Hickory Run farm near Califon. She was a graduate of Albright College and the New York School of Social Work and held master’s degrees from Columbia University and Rutgers.
She was a past president of the Trenton College Club, served on the boards of the Trenton YWCA and Bordentown Library Association, and was active in the Delaware Valley United Fund. She served in the Red Cross during World War II, and later worked for the Children’s Home of Trenton. A school librarian, she became a children’s library consultant for the State of NJ, from which position she retired in 1987.
Pre-deceased by her husband Leon Rohrbacher, she is survived by a son, Peter, daughter-in-law, Cheryl, grandson Peter II and daughter Alice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bordentown Library Association, 18 E. Union St., Bordentown, NJ 08505.

Theodore Mariasy
ROEBLING Theodore "Riggs" Mariasy, 81, died Dec. 5 in Virtua Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, Mount Holly.
Mr. Mariasy was born in Roebling, the son of the late Louis and Emma Tivador Mariasy. He was a lifelong Roebling resident.
Mr. Mariasy was a U.S. Army Corps veteran of World War II serving in the Western Pacific. He was a furniture maker and butcher. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. He was very proud of his American Hungarian heritage.
Mr. Mariasy was a retired salesman, employed by Lubik Oldsmobile, Bordentown with 20 years service.
A member of Willits Hogan Tonne American Legion Post 39 and Opre Larson V.F.W. Post 8838, Roebling, Bordentown DAV where he served as past secretary.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Lubik Mariasy; son and daughter-in-law, Karen Mariasy and Thomas Bertolino of North Hanover; granddaughter, Morgan Paige Mariasy of Peddie School, Hightstown; brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Shirlee Mariasy of Daytona Beach, Fla.; many nieces and nephews including Mikey Lubik of Bordentown.
Friends may call today, Thursday from 9 a.m. until church departure at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling.
Funeral Mass will be today, Thursday at 11 a.m. at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, 1290 Hornberger Ave., Roebling.
Burial will be in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Township.

Theresa M. Schino
BORDENTOWN Theresa M. Carlisi Schino, 75, died Dec. 4 surrounded by her family.
Born in Trenton, she resided in Bordentown for the past 21 years.
Throughout the years, Theresa and her husband Paul were the proprietors of numerous businesses in Princeton, Crosswicks, and Bordentown. For the past 14 years, her passion was being involved in her grandsons’ lives.
She will be remembered as a passionate lover of life, her family and her many friends. She gave of herself effortlessly with her kindness and compassion. She touched many, many lives and will be missed so dearly.
Daughter of the late Vincenzo and Lorenza Costanza Carlisi, she was goddaughter of the late Dominico and Vincenzina Gambino, sister of the late Richard Carlese, and sister-in-law of the late Henry Croce. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Paul Schino; her children, Paula Schino-Pointon and husband George W. Pointon of Yardville, and Vincent Schino and wife Mary Ann Casey-Schino of Bordentown; and her grandchildren, Vincent James and Nicholas Paul Schino of Bordentown. Theresa is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Salvatore and Geraldine Carlese of Morrisville, Pa.; sister and brother-in-law Josephine and Carl Correia of Trenton; sister Antoinette Laird of Trenton; sister Jennie Croce of Richmond, Va.; goddaughters Bea Hodges of Karratha, Australia, and Diane Wilkerson of Richmond, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and her very special friend, Debbie Kinsley of Bordentown.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. today, Thursday, at St. Mary’s Church, Crosswicks Street, Bordentown.
Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Huber Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown.

Marie Elizabeth Balfour
COLUMBUS Marie Elizabeth Balfour (nee Van Yperen), 81, died Dec. 3 at Virtua Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born Jan. 8, 1923 in Bloomfield, she was the wife of the Rev. Donald K. Balfour for 55 years. She served faithfully for 32 years as pastor’s wife, counselor, women’s conference speaker, Sunday School teacher and pianist for Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was also president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Aberdeen Servicemen’s Center for many years.
She was a graduate of Hawthorne High School (1940), Hawthorne Bible School and the Dumont Hospital Nursing program.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Donald Balfour; her children, Tom Balfour of New Market, Md., Ruth Ehrich of Chesterfield, Sen. Don Balfour II, Snellville, Ga., and Debbie Buonocore, South Brunswick; and six grandchildren, Erin, Joshua, Meredith, Jillian and Chelsea Ehrich and Trey Balfour. She is also survived by her siblings Nellie Bakker, South Yarmouth, Mass., Richard Van Yperen, Queensbury, N.Y. and Ruth Bryson, Muskegon, Mich.
Visiting hours were held Wednesday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Main and Jackson streets, South River.
The funeral will be held 11 a.m. today, Thursday at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Interment to follow.

Margaret Kennedy
BORDENTOWN Margaret "Peg" Tohill Kennedy, 76, died Dec. 3 in Hamilton Continuing Care Center.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident. She retired from the State of New Jersey after 37 years of service.
Daughter of the late Vincent and Margaret Ashmore Tohill and sister of the late Vincent Joseph Tohill and James Bernard Tohill, she is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jack F. and Sally Tohill of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Betty Tohill of Trenton; nieces and nephews, Kevin and Ann Tohill, Chris and Susan Gaydula, James and Michelle Tohill, Patrick and Dorothy Tohill and Cynthia Tohill; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Mullen Funeral Home, 537 S. Olden Ave., Trenton.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Anthony’s Church.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

William R. Mershon
CHESTERFIELD William (Bill) R. Mershon, 42, died Dec. 3 at home.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
A graduate of Steinert High School Class of 1980, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and retired as postal supervisor from the U.S. Postal Service in Hamilton.
He was a member of the Fin Fur and Feather Club and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Son of the late Patricia Mains Mershon, he is survived by his father, Fred Mershon of Hamilton; two daughters, Lisa Mershon and her fiancé, Charles Miller III of Tullytown, Pa., andHeather Mershon of Hammonton; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Stacy Mershon of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister and her boyfriend, Susan Struble and Warren Woolverton, both of Hamilton; two granddaughters, Alexia Devlin and Elizabeth Miller; nieces and nephews, Eric and Jared Struble, Matthew Woolverton, Laura, Taylor and Chelsie Mershon, Jimmy and Shannon Riddle; special friends Mike and Karen Wolf of Trenton; Linda Hatt of Hattitudes Farms in Chesterfield, where Bill resided and loved so much; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Buklad Memorial Home, 2141 S. Broad St., Hamilton.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Efruzyna Drofa Kenen
NORTH HANOVER TOWNSHIP Efruzyna Drofa Kenen, 88, died Dec. 1 in Whiting Health Care Center, Manchester Township.
Mrs. Kenen was born in the Ukraine and resided in North Hanover Township for the past 29 years. She had previously resided in Trenton for 20 years. She was a founding member of St. George’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Yardville, a member of the church Sisterhood, and Ukrainian Orthodox Sisterhood in South Bound Brook.
Wife of the late Alexander Kenen, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Sharon Kenen of North Hanover Township and Nicholas and Treasure Kenen of Tacoma, Wash.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Nadia and the Rev. John Fatenko of North Port, Fla. and Vera Kenen of Mount Holly; one sister, Helen Drofa of the Ukraine; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Panahida services were held Dec. 3 at St. George’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 839 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Petro Levko officiating.
Burial was in Morrisville Cemetery, Morrisville, Pa.
