   Police responded to a vehicle fire on Taylor Street at 10:11 a.m., Nov. 29.
   The victim said he had begun warming his 1999 GMC truck when he noticed smoke coming from its engine compartment, police said. He grabbed a fire extinguisher and put the fire out, police said.
   The cause of the fire was identified as a shorted electrical wire.
   In addition to police Hillsborough Fire Company 37 and the Hillsborough Rescue Squad responded.

Cesar Lopez Marroquin, 18, of Plainfield was charged with exhibiting a fraudulent driver’s license at 7:52 a.m., Nov. 29.
   Police were traveling south on New Center Road when they observed a black Toyota slow but fail to come to a complete stop at the intersection of New Center Road and South Branch Road, police said.
   After stopping Mr. Marroquin, police noticed that his driver’s license was fraudulent and his insurance was expired. Mr. Marroquin, who spoke little English, told police he had purchased the license through a newspaper ad thinking it was legitimate.
   He was charged with exhibiting a fraudulent driver’s license, a third-degree offense, and issued summonses for being an unlicensed driver, failure to stop, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving an uninsured vehicle.

Samuel Ornstein, 59, of Pennington was charged with driving while intoxicated at 2:02 a.m., Dec. 4.
   Police observed a green Lincoln Navigator traveling southbound on Sunnymead Road at a slow rate of speed, and stopped it after witnessing it swerve over the double yellow lines on the road, police said.
   While speaking with Mr. Ornstein police allegedly detected the smell of alcohol. After conducting field sobriety tests, Mr. Ornstein was transported to headquarters.
   Mr. Ornstein was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, driving while suspended, failure to keep right and careless driving. He is currently awaiting a court date.
