Freshman Kim Limani and senior Amanda Casey led the Bordentown Regional High School girls’ varsity bowling team to a quality 3-1 victory over a strong new Egypt squad at Papp’s last Friday night.
"They did well, but they gave up a point (game)," said Bordentown head coach Ron Jones of his talented girls’ squad.
Casey had a high game of 229 while Limani was consistent and rolled a 552 series overall.
Meanwhile, Bordentown’s ultra-powerful boys’ squad steamrolled its way to a 4-0 victory over New Egypt. Ryan Branson was easily the biggest hero with a 256 high game which propelled him to an amazing 703 series.
Both Bordentown teams also posted victories against Westampton Tech at Laurel Lanes on Monday afternoon. Landon Withers led the way for the Scotties boys’ team to post a 4-0 win with a 646 series, which was highlighted by a 234 high game.
Meanwhile, Limani was sharp and led her squad to a 3-1 triumph over Westampton.
"Kim Limani had high game (195) and series (552)," added Jones.
Neither Bordentown bowling team was at the top of its game bowling at Pemberton on Tuesday night. Nonetheless the Bordentown boys have so much firepower they won 4-0, while Pemberton’s girls nipped Bordentown 3-1.
"Landon Withers had a couple of 200 games," noted Jones.
Senior Leon Mack rolled a 222 game.
Meanwhile, Bordentown’s girls could only muster a win in the first game as they had a little trouble adjusting to the lanes.
The Scotties boys’ team is now a perfect 5-0 while the girls’ team is 4-1.
The Bordentown girls’ will bowl in the Maple Bowl Holiday Tournament on Thursday while the Bordentown boys’ Holiday Tournament falls on Friday. Both Bordentown teams are scheduled at Holy Cross on Monday. Both squads will host Rancocas Valley on Tuesday.
   NBC

The Northern Burlington County Regional High School girls’ varsity bowling team "struck" first against league rival Pemberton, in what is always a heated battle for the Liberty title.
NBC went on the road and downed Pemberton, 3-1, last Wednesday (December 8). And the Greyhounds got the job done with consistency.
"We had four girls bowl over 400," said NBC head coach Bruce Wandling.
Shannon Wilkins (a 487 series), Kylie Crowshaw (410), Jamie Lynn Weeks (154) and Nicole Urig (447) all were steady. Wilkins had a high game of 191.
Meanwhile NBC’s boys were good enough to top Pemberton, 3-1. Don Burgess sparked NBC to victory with a 529 series and a high game of 188. Bill Moore also contributed with a 183 high game and a 506 series.
The Greyhounds have always struggled a bit on synthetic lanes, consequently Burlington Township was able to beat NBC’s boys 4-0 on Monday at the Brunswick Zone.
Nonetheless, Moore rolled a 597 series, with a high game of 214 in defeat.
The NBC girls fared much better. They blanked the Falcons as Urig rolled a 477 series and Wilkins had a high game of 174.
April Savoy, one of four freshmen Wandling rotates in the fifth slot, impressed her coach and teammates with a 172 game.
On Tuesday afternoon Burgess had one of his best days of the season with a 616 series and a 238 high game. However, NBC could only work out a 2-2 tie against New Egypt. Moore also rolled a 200 game as NBC won the third game and the overall pin count.
New Egypt handed the NBC girls their first loss (3-1) of the season. Urig rolled a 456 in a losing cause.
"She’s been more steady (this year)," remarked Wandling of Urig.
Meanwhile, NBC’s Melissa Rockhill also bowled well.
"She (Rockhill) bowled a 453 series and she’s only a freshman," noted Wandling, who likes what he sees out of his underclassmen.
The NBC girls’ team will bowl in the Maple Bowl Holiday Tournament today (Thursday) while the NBC boys’ squad’s Holiday Tournament is scheduled for tomorrow (Friday).
Both NBC squads are scheduled at Westampton Tech on Tuesday. The Greyhound boys are 1-1-2 while the girls’ team is 2-1-1.
