James Sunday, 23, of New Brunswick was charged with driving while intoxicated at 11:23 p.m., Dec. 6.
Police were traveling south on Millstone River Road when they observed a blue Subaru traveling north going 60 mph in a 45-mph zone.
After stopping the vehicle, police detected the odor of alcohol on the driver’s breath. Mr. Sunday was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, speeding, reckless driving and refusing to submit to a Breathalyzer test.
He is awaiting a court date.
A Beechwood Circle resident reported damage to his mailbox at 7:30 a.m., Dec. 8.
The resident told police that sometime between 6:45 p.m., Dec. 7, and 6:15 a.m., Dec. 8, his wooden mailbox post was vandalized.
The value of the mailbox was estimated to be $40.
A Capricorn Drive resident reported a custom-made speaker box stolen at 9:25 p.m., Dec. 8.
The resident told police he’d last seen the box on his front porch at 7:30 p.m.
The victim did not know who took it, but did say he had seen a group of kids near the vicinity of his property earlier in the night who could have taken the item. Police were unable to locate any suspects.
The wooden speaker box was valued at $200.
