Rufus C. Benton of Princeton died Monday at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York City. He was 73.
A graduate of Penn State University, he was the founder of Chemcut Corp. of State College, Pa., and of Benton Graphics of Hamilton Township.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Benton; daughters Margret Linico of Roebling and Jennifer Benton-Nyce of Greenport, Long Island, N.Y.; and grandchildren Kara, Kevin and Korey Linico.

Retired from Western Electric
WEST WINDSOR Barbara J. Kirk died Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Paterson. She was 69.
Born in Jersey City, she lived in Bayonne for 67 years before moving to West Windsor two years ago.
Mrs. Kirk retired in 1985 after 32 years as a claims adjuster with the personnel department of the Western Electric Co. of Kearny. She was associated with her mother in the Pilkin Floral Shop in Bayonne. She was a former banquet manager for the Hi-Hat Caterers of Bayonne.
She was a member of the Richard A. Rutkowski Association and the Amerpol Club of Bayonne and the Wee-Kearny Club of Western Electric.
Daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Wojan Pilkin, wife of the late William Kirk and mother of the late Debra D. Kirk, she is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Carolyn Pilkiewicz, with whom she had resided; sister and brother-in-law Catherine and Frank Romanski of Wayne; stepson William Kirk Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. today at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bayonne.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Longtime Princeton resident
Earl F. Cramer of Princeton died Sunday at University Medical Center at Princeton. He was 94.
Born in Hopewell, he lived in Princeton nearly his entire life.
Son of the late Frank and Mary Whelan Cramer, brother of the late George, James and Thomas Cramer, Mildrid Landis and Doris Brabston, with whom he lived for many years, he is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed visiting with friends on Nassau Street in Princeton and playing the lottery.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Princeton.

Memorial service Saturday
Memorial services for Henry William Gerberding, who died Nov. 19, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Pennington, with the Rev. John Belmont, officiating.
Mr. Gerberding, a former Rocky Hill resident, was founder and president of Montgomery National Bank, retiring in 1990. He was most recently a resident of Rutland, Vt.
