Jeanette Pincus Kraut, 82, died Sunday, Dec. 12, at Pavilions at Forrestal, Plainsboro.
Born in Torrington, Conn., she lived in Highland Park for 16 years before moving to Monroe 15 years ago. Prior to retiring, she was the supervisor for the Middlesex County Food Stamp Program for more than 20 years. Ms. Kraut was a member of the Jewish Congregation of Clearbrook, and a former member of the Highland Park Conservative Temple.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles; two daughters, Sharon Reinking and her husband, Richard, of Manalapan and Nancy Goldstein and her husband, William, of Princeton; and five grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer and Stephanie Reinking, and Jaimie and Taylor Goldstein.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 13, at Beth Israel Mausoleum, Woodbridge, under the direction of Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Children and Family Services of Mercer County.
Carmine Siracusa
Carmine Siracusa, 86, died Sunday, Dec. 12, at Cranbury Center.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Siracusa moved with his young family to Levittown, Long Island, N.Y., in 1951. He moved to Bowie, Md., in 1965 and, upon retirement, moved to Clearbrook community in 1979. Mr. Siracusa was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy aboard the USS Farragut and was awarded two ribbons and stars (for Okinawa and Iwo Jima).
Mr. Siracusa spent the majority of his working life with the Department of the Navy. Beginning as a shipfitter in the Brooklyn Naval Yard, he advanced and rose through management training and several positions in the naval yard’s Production Department, transferring to the Navy Department in Washington, D.C. Mr. Siracusa worked in provisioning and budgeting for various ship and submarine projects.
Mr. Siracusa was president of Clearbrook’s Section Nine, a member of the CCA Board, and president of the Woodworkers Club, his lifelong hobby. Mr. Siracusa was also politically active, demonstrated by his membership in the Coalition for Nuclear Disarmament.
Mr. Siracusa is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Anne; three sons, Carl and his wife, Gillian, of London, Craig and his wife, Victoria, of Denver, and Bob and his wife, Karen, of Lawrenceville; a daughter, Donna and her husband, Geoffrey, of Baltimore; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Dec. 15, at A.S. Cole, Son and Co. Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Cranbury, followed by interment at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. Charitable contributions in Mr. Siracusa’s honor are to be directed to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, Attn: Mary Ann Sprinkle, Director of Development, 1501 N.W. 9th Ave. and Bob Hope Road, Miami, Fla. 33176-1494.
