The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Holy Trinity Church in Long Branch will host a Christmas feast Dec. 26 from 1 to 5 p.m. in the gymnasium of the Holy Trinity School, 375 Exchange Place.
The dinner is free to all families and individuals who would not otherwise be able to enjoy the true spirit of the holiday season. The feast will include turkey and all the fixings and desserts.
Santa will also be making a return trip to Long Branch to visit all the children. Donations of food, toys, time or money are needed, and those interested in donating can contact Sam or Roseanne Wike at (732) 870-8721 or the Holy Trinity rectory, (732) 222-3216, ext. 9.
Donations will be accepted up to the morning of Dec. 26.

The Holy Trinity School on Exchange Place in Long Branch is scheduled to host a New Year’s Eve party Dec. 31 from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the school auditorium.
Tickets will cost $50 per person and will include a buffet catered by Biaggio Italian Grille and dancing to music provided by a disc jockey.

The New Jersey Road Runners Club (NJRRC) will host a midnight run/walk on the Long Branch oceanfront Dec. 31 that will begin with a fireworks display, courtesy of the Ocean Place Resort & Spa.
The four-mile race will start and finish at the Ocean Place on Ocean Boulevard. The cost to participate is $25 for adults and $15 for ages 17 and younger. Registration will take place up to the day of the race.

The city of Long Branch is requesting, by law, that all persons who wish to file nominating petitions as candidates for the Long Branch Board of Education file on or before 4 p.m. Feb. 28.
The election is scheduled for April 19.
Petitions may be obtained from the secretary, Nancy Valenti, at the Board of Education building, 540 Broadway. The petition must be filed with the secretary of the board of education of the school district in which the candidate resides.
Prospective school board candidates can obtain a School Board Candidate Kit from the secretary. The kit is published by the New Jersey School Boards Association and includes information about legal qualifications for school board candidacy, campaign procedures and the role of the school board member.
