LETTERS: A top 10 enjoyment

To the editor:
In this holiday season of joy, I would like to share my list of the most enjoyable pop songs.
   1. "Johnny B. Goode" by Chuck Berry. Real rock and roll is born.
   2. "Jungleland" by Bruce Springsteen. Masterpiece. Every would-be songwriter should listen to this song at least 50 times and then try creating a work of art that would be comparable.
   3. "Sounds of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel. Spectacular poetry set to music.
   4. "Purple Haze" by Jimmy Hendrix. Mood-altering song from a guy who played guitar like he was from another universe.
   5. "In My Life" by The Beatles. A "Rubber Soul" song that touches friends and lovers at weddings and funerals.
   6. "1999" by Prince. Fusion has reached its pinnacle.
   7. "By the Sea" by Bobby Darin. Relax to this soothing shore song.
   8. "We Didn’t Start The Fire" by Billy Joel. A short history lesson of recent pop-culture events.
   9. "Paint It Black" by the Rolling Stones. Release your inner hostilities while moving to an interesting gypsy beat.
   10. "You Should be Dancing" by the Bee Gees. This song even gets rhythmically challenged people on the dance floor.
