EAST WINDSOR Jim Van Horn, 66, died Sunday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in Appleton, Wis., he graduated from The University of Wisconsin, Madison, with an honors degree in journalism. After eight years as a writer for Allis-Chalmers in Milwaukee, the family moved to East Windsor, where Mr. Van Horn became managing editor of Construction Equipment Magazine in New York City. He went on to work for Merck and Research-Cotrell in public relations, finally becoming president of the PR firm Wathen Associates in Alexandria, Va.
Mr. Van Horn was a great lover of all music, from Wagner to Dylan, from Jelly Roll Morton to Springsteen. He delighted in trying his hand at cooking unusual dishes. Curries and jambalaya were family favorites. But above all else, he valued time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara; his son Douglas and girlfriend Rebekah Fisk of New York; his son Christopher and wife Jayme of Boston; his son Gregory and wife Rebecca and grandson, Finnegan of Los Angeles; and his sister, Margaret Clark of Lafayette, Calif.; niece Anne Clark; nephew C. Cooper Clark and wife Christie; and great nephew Aidan.
A memorial service will was held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau Street, Princeton. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Nassau Presbyterian Church or Camp Fire USA, Programs for the Prevention of Child Abuse, 535 East Franklin Street, Trenton, NJ 08610.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kimble Funeral Home, Princeton.
Edith Milbank Corbin
HIGHTSTOWN Edith Milbank Corbin, 88, formerly of the Oranges, died Dec. 11 at The Meadow Lakes Assisted Living Facility in Hightstown.
Born in South Orange, she lived there and in West Orange before moving to Meadow Lakes 13 years ago.
Mrs. Corbin was a 1937 graduate of Vasser College, with a bachelor’s degree in history. She was a member of the Bay Head Yacht Club and the Essex County Country Club, where she played golf and tennis. Over the years, she was active in the Junior League of the Oranges, the Garden Club of America and the St. Ann’s Guild at the Church of the Holy Communion in South Orange.
She was a homemaker.
Edith was always dedicated to her family, loved dancing and music, and had a kind word for everyone.
She was the wife of the late Horace K. Corbin Jr. of Llewelyn Park. Surviving are a son, Horace K. Corbin III of Morristown; a daughter, Marcia Corbin of Aspen; a brother, Robert Milbank of Summit; a sister, Barbara Van Doren of South Orange; and grandchildren of Liesl Rexford of Fairfield, Conn., Gretchen and Brie of Seattle, Wash., and Horace K. Corbin IV of Brooklyn.
A memorial service was held Wednesday at Meadow Lakes in Hightstown.

John W. Hopper
EAST WINDSOR John W. Hopper, 73, of East Windsor died Saturday at Capital Health Care at Fuld Medical Center as he result of a pedestrian auto accident on Dec. 1 in East Windsor.
Born in Metuchen, he was a lifetime area resident. A 1951 graduate of Trenton Central High School, Mr. Hopper has worked for several funeral homes in the Trenton area.
Son on the late William V. and Elizabeth Fenton Hopper, he is survived by two cousins, Paul Fenton of Maine and Richard Fenton of Massachusetts.
Graveside service was held on Wednesday at Ewing Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Scotch Road, Ewing Township.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kimble Funeral Home, Hamilton Avenue, Princeton.
Jennifer Kline
MORGAN HILL, Calif. Jennifer Kline, 26, beloved daughter of Ruthi Haviland of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Kenneth Kline of Staten Island, N.Y., died on Dec. 7 due to complications of pneumonia. She was "Jenni" to all who knew and loved her.
Born in Trenton on May 18, 1978, Ms. Kline was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, seizures, microcephalia, quadriplegia and many other physical and mental disabilities. She was raised in Hightstown and moved to Staten Island, N.Y., in 1990. She was a resident at the Staten Island Developmental Disabilities Service Office and graduated from the Hungerford School in 1999.
Ms. Kline loved being the center of attention no matter what occasion. Though unable to speak, she was a happy child who smiled most of the time and whose laughter was infectious.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Kline is survived by her stepfather, Alan Haviland, stepmother Mary Kline, stepsisters, Alexis and Tara Hollywood, and her maternal grandmother, Mildred Hulick of East Windsor.
Funeral services and cremation were held in Staten Island on Dec. 10. A memorial service was held at Morgan Hill Bible Church on Saturday.
