LAMBERTVILLE — A worker at Orleans Homebuilders’ Lambert’s Hill development died the evening of Dec. 29 from injuries incurred in a fall at the site earlier that day.
The man had been standing on a scaffold and putting up siding on a townhouse at the 129-unit development on Route 29 when he fell approximately 40 feet to the ground and sustained internal injuries, according to Lambertville police.
Police Monday identified the man as Jan Jeglikowski, 49, of Trenton, who was employed by WK Construction Inc. of Lawrenceville.
A PennStar medical helicopter transported the injured man, who was conscious, to Capital Health System in Trenton. The hospital admitted him in critical condition, police said.
A spokeswoman for Capital Health System’s regional trauma center at the Fuld Campus on Brunswick Avenue confirmed a patient was transported by medical helicopter to the facility but she declined to release his name, citing federal privacy laws.
Police would not release further details except to say a female office worker at the development phoned 911 about 11:26 a.m. The MedEvac helicopter was dispatched through Bucks County Dispatch, police said.
A witness to the medical helicopter’s touchdown said the crew got the patient at Ely Field.
The owner of WK Construction said he was "too busy" to discuss the accident, a woman who answered the phone at the company’s office said.
