Bohdan Hnidj

   HILLSBOROUGH — Bohdan Hnidj died Dec. 29 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. He was 76.
   He lived in Hillsborough for the past 40 years.
   Mr. Hnidj was employed by Devro in Somerville as an electrician for more then 30 years retiring In 1993. He was a member of their Quarter Century Club.
   He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was awarded a Silver Star for his service.
   He was a life member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh VFW Post 2290 in Manville.
   He was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church, where he previously held the position of Church Secretary.
   A brother, Adam Hnidj, of Bridgeton is deceased.
   Surviving are his wife, Maria (Olijny) Hnidj of Hillsborough; a son, George of Manville, two daughters, Irene Hnidj and Mary Ann Hnidj of Hillsborough; two grandchildren; two brothers, Nicholas of Millstone, and Roman of Branchburg; one niece and nephew.
   Funeral services were held Jan. 3, from Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, Manville, followed by a funeral liturgy at St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Cemetery in South Bound Brook.
