On Jan. 16 at 4 p.m., Calvary Baptist Church will sponsor the first in a series of four hour-long benefit concerts to support the Hopewell Council of Churches’ Community Food Pantry.

Special guest is The Dave Homan Quartet, featuring: Dave Homan, saxophone; Andy Keenan, guitar; Jason Fraticelli, bass; and Chris Eddleton, drums. The group performs original jazz compositions and familiar jazz standards rendered "a la Ho."
The concert series will continue on Jan. 23 (The Practitioners of Musick, "Mr. Handel and his Musical Friends"); Jan. 30 (Chamber Players of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra); and Feb. 6 (Elaine Christy, "The Chameleon Harp").
Calvary Baptist Church is located at 3 E. Broad St. (Route 518), in Hopewell. A chair lift to the sanctuary is available. For more information, call 466-1880.
The Food Pantry is an outreach project of the Hopewell Council of Churches and is funded by donations from church families, area individuals and businesses, and special events, such as Community Lenten Services.
The pantry serves Hopewell Borough and the immediate area. Canned goods presently are housed at Calvary Baptist Church. Annual emergency assistance averages around $10,000 per year. Food deliveries and emergency assistance serve over 100 people annually.
The Hopewell Council of Churches includes: Calvary Baptist, Hopewell Presbyterian, Hopewell United Methodist, St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic, and Second Calvary Baptist.
