J. Alvin Stout Jr., 76, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, at JFK Medical Center, Edison.
He was born in New Brunswick, and lived there before moving to Monmouth Junction.
He was a truck driver for Marriott Distribution Center, Dayton, for 36 years before retiring. He previously worked for Triangle Conduit & Cable Co., New Brunswick. He was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church in New Brunswick. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a past worshipful master of
Progressive Lodge 17, F&AM. He was a member of Khufu Temple 120-Oasis of Princeton-Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, and a former member of Superior Lodge 215-IBPOE Elks of the World.
Five of his sisters, Edith Jackson, Ruth McGriff, Grace Haynie, Elsie Miller and Elva Fletcher, are deceased. He is survived by his wife, Marie J. Stout of Monmouth Junction; two daughters, Linda Ford of Monmouth Junction and Jackie Eguiguren of Princeton; three sons, Donald Stout of Willingboro, Alvin Stout II of Wallingford, Pa., and Irvin Stout of Waldorf, Md.; a sister, Ada Wooden of Monroe; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Monday, Jan. 3, at Mt. Zion AME Church, 39 Morris St., New Brunswick. Burial took place Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Service, 201 Sandford St., New Brunswick.
