John G. Bravakis
   John G. Bravakis, 75, of Clearbrook, died Monday, Jan. 3, at the University Medical Center in Princeton.
   Born in Newark, he lived in Livingston for 40 years before moving to Monroe in 1980. He was a telecommunications analyst for the purchasing bureau in the State Treasury for 20 years, retiring in June, 1994. Previously, he had been a systems design consultant for several Essex County municipalities for New Jersey Bell for many years. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1947 through 1950 and was an avid war historian. He was especially adept at the New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle, which he proudly did in ink. He will be missed by his special pet dog, Blacksheep’s Newcastle Fiona TDI.
   He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Catherine P. Parker; a son, William J. Bravakis of Roselle; two daughters, Susan A. Bravakis of Brick, and Mary Ann Bock of Jackson; a brother, James G. Bravakis of Greer, S.C.; a sister, Estelle Plastoris of Dover; an uncle, Theodore Bravakis of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a granddaughter, Marissa R. Fahey.
   Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. today (Friday) Jan. 7, at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe. A Funeral liturgy will follow at 10 a.m. at St. James R.C. Church, Jamesburg. Internment will be held at the parish cemetery.
