Virginia Selma Green
Virginia Selma Green, 86, of East Road, Tiverton, R.I., formerly of Grace Hill Road in Monroe, died Saturday, Jan. 1, at Heatherwood Nursing and Sub-Acute Rehabilitation Center in Newport, R.I.
She was born in Perth Amboy. Ms. Green, a graduate of the Perth Amboy High School Class of 1936, had been a member of the Calvary Wesleyan Church of Jamesburg where she served as Treasurer and on the Missionary Society. She was active in the choir, served as a Sunday School teacher, and served as the Assistant to the Superintendent of the Sunday School. She had been a congregant of the Presbyterian Church of Princeton.
Her husband, Franklin Ward Green, is deceased. She is survived by her sons, Thomas Green of Tiverton, R.I., and Lewis Green of Branson, Mo.; a grandson, Johnathan Green of Fall River, Mass.; three great-grandchildren; and her lifetime friend, Mary Nohai of Perth Amboy.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 12, at 3 p.m. at the A.S. Cole Son & Co. Funeral Home, 22 North Main St., Cranbury.
Interment will be held in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Old Bridge. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, Jan. 11, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., and on Wednesday, Jan. 12, from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
