Brookdale offers program on classic architecture

  • Brookdale’s Western Monmouth Higher Education Center, Freehold Township, will host Glen May, education coordinator of the Monmouth County Historical Association and art aficionado, for a two-session presentation, “Classic Architectural Forms.”
  • The program will meet Jan. 24 and 31 from 7-9 p.m. The center is located on Route 9 south, behind the Bank of America.

    The presentation will identify the classical architecture influences on furniture, interiors and gardens in North America and in Monmouth County.

    The class will include slide-illustrated lectures, discussion covering the Greek and Roman forms, classical forms in the Italian Renaissance, architectural forms in paintings and the decorative arts, symmetry and the rococo style.

    The program is offered through the Brookdale Office of Business and Community Development. The registration code is XARTG 029, and the program fee is $40.
