The Matawan Aberdeen Educational Foundation is sponsoring an instrument donation program for students in grades four and five. Students unable to rent an instrument due to family finances will be able to borrow a donated instrument so the student may participate in the beginning lesson program.
The foundation has approved funds to have donated instruments repaired to playing condition for students. Instruments accepted are flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and trombone. No string instruments, please, as there is no string program. Families donating an instrument will receive a record of the donation, which includes the value of the donation. Standard value is one-third of the purchase price. This record may be used for tax purposes.
Instruments may be dropped off at Lloyd Road School. Donors should include name, phone number and address so a record of donation can be mailed. For more information, call the school at (732) 290-2760.
