Elsie C. Valentini



   BORDENTOWN CITY — Elsie C. Valentini, 94, of Bordentown City died Jan. 9 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton. Born in Roebling, she had resided most of her life in Bordentown. She had retired as the head of the Business Education Department of Bordentown Regional High School where she had over 37 years of service.
   A member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, she had been organist for both the senior and junior choir. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and St. Mary’s Senior Citizens Club.
   The daughter of the late Innocenzo and Maria Martoni Valentini and sister of the late Gus and Michael Valentini and aunt of the late Robert Valentini, she is survived by her sister, Sola Valentini of Bordentown; a nephew, Michael Valentini; great nieces, Tracy and Kimberly, great nephew, Mark and great-great nieces, Alexandra and Chloe.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, Thursday, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown with interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
   Arrangements are under the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown. Donations may be made to either St. Mary’s School or Hope Hose-Humane First Aid Squad.


Lee A. Pasternack



   CHESTERFIELD — Lee A. Pasternack, 87, died Jan. 8 at Morris Hall – St. Joseph’s Nursing Center in Lawrenceville.
   Born in Philadelphia, he had resided in Chesterfield for over 60 years. He had retired from the Trenton Times after more than 38 years, where he was a reporter-photographer.
   He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving first with the Army Finance Department at Fort Dix, where he enlisted in 1942.
   He had been a member of the Chesterfield Township Historical Society and the Garden State Thunderbird Club. He also served on the board of the Greater Trenton Symphony Orchestra.
   Husband of the late Mary C. Pasternack and brother of the late Victoria Hansen, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise A. and Kevin J. Darmody of Chesterfield and Lisa J. and Alan J. Booth of Catonsville, Md.; two grandchildren, Kellen and Brendan Darmody; a niece Kathy Fleming of New Orleans; and a nephew, Emmett Dwyer.
   Services will be private and at the convenience of the family with Interment at Brig. General William C. Doyle Memorial Veterans Cemetery, North Hanover.
   Donations in his memory may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD 21201. Arrangements are by Huber-Moore Funeral Home, Bordentown.


Norman Parker



   WRIGHTSTOWN — Norman "Diddle" Parker, 87, died Jan. 5 at Virtua Hospital in Mount Holly. Born in Chesterfield, he was a lifetime area resident.
   He was a well-known area farmer and was the owner of Norman Parker & Son Farms in Wrightstown. He was a founding member of the South Branch Sportsmen’s Club in Manchester Township, a member of the Republican Club, a member of the New Jersey Farm Bureau, and a former board member of The Bank Of Mid-Jersey.
   He was predeceased by his son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Jane Parker. He is survived by his wife Virginia (nee Mullen) Parker; two granddaughters, Robine Parker and Janette Cronin and husband Sean, all of Wrightstown; two great grandchildren, Cole and Garrett Cronin; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services and interment are private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lee and Jane Parker Memorial Fund, c/o The North Hanover Rescue Squad, 41 Schoolhouse Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
M. Julia Southard



   M. Julia Mastrosimone Southard, 102, died Jan. 5 at the Cinnaminson Center, Cinnaminson.
   Mrs. Southard was born in Pottsville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Lucy Sevilla Rossidivito. She was a resident of Pottsville, Roebling, Burlington and the past four years she lived at the Cinnaminson Center.
   Mrs. Southard was a former member of St. Paul’s Church, Burlington, Holy Assumption Church, Roebling, St. Joseph’s Church, Pottsville and its Altar Rosary Society and John A. Roebling Senior Citizens.
   Wife of the late Vita Mastrosimone and Edward Southard, she is survived by four daughters and a son-in-law, Sr. M. Annunziata, D.M., Newfield; Lucy Mastrosimone, Burlington; Nancy Susko, Fairless Hills, Pa.; and Gloria and Stephen Fazekas, Roebling; a son, Claude Mastrosimone of Charleston, S.C.; also 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
   Funeral Mass was held Monday at Holy Assumption Church with Fr. Matthew Morreale officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
   Arrangements are under the direction of the Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling.

Margaret Cardinal



   BORDENTOWN — Margaret Forchi Cardinal, 85, formerly of Pennington died Jan. 5 at home.
   Born in Trenton, she was retired from General Motors Corp. in West Trenton. She was a member of Incarnation Roman Catholic Church in Ewing, the Senior Citizens Group of the Church and also of G.M.
   She was an avid dancer, an excellent cook and enjoyed Atlantic City.
   Daughter of the late Dominic and Mary Capria Forchi, wife of the late Frank P. Cardinal;sister of the late Adam Forchi; she is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Alberta Cardinal of Hamilton Township, MaryAnn and Robert S. VanBuren of Bordentown; two sisters, Victoria Gaug of California and Marion Mazzola of Seaside; six grandchildren, Lisa and her husband Jamie Bartolomei, Michael Rabatie and his fiance Michelle Hovan, Victoria Fischer, Joy Baszczowski, Billie Ann and her husband Angelo Graiff, and Marla Baszczowski; three great-grandchildren, Christina Bartolomei, Nicholas Bartolomei and Zakary Fischer; several nieces and nephews.
   A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday at the Incarnation Roman Catholic Church, 1545 Pennington Road, Ewing. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton.

Catherine M. Rein



   CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP — Catherine M. Rein, 83, died Jan. 5 at her home.
   Born in Bordentown City, she had lived in Bordentown Township before moving to Chesterfield Township in 1974. She had worked as a cashier at the Acme Market in Bordentown for 36 years.
   She was an avid bowler in local leagues of Bordentown, and the most important thing in her life was her family.
   Wife of the late Joseph Rein Sr., she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Jr. and Judith A. Rein of Wildwood; brother-in-law, Frank Rein of Trenton; three grandchildren, John C. Rein of Jacksonville, Fla., Joette Papiez and her husband Michael Sr. of Hamilton Township, and Bridget A. Rein of Wildwood; two great-grandchildren, Victoria Papiez and Michael Papiez Jr.; two nieces, Kathy Kamaras of Bordentown Township and Carrol Large of Trenton.
   Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday at St. Mary’s Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown.
   Interment followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bordentown Township. Arrangements are under the direction of the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown.


Mary Trembula



   Mary Magdalene Trembula, 82, of Burlington Township, died Jan. 5 in Lourdes Medical center of Burlington County, Willingboro.
   Mrs. Trembula was born in Johnstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Mayzar Bires.
   She resided in Roebling since 1948 before moving to Burlington Township recently.
   Mrs. Trembula was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Church, Roebling and the ladies guild of the church.
   Wife of the late George Trembula and sister of the late Helen Swarney and Joseph Bires, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Vasile Ceascai of Burlington; son and daughter-in-law, George M. and Linda Trembula of Burlington; two sisters, Dorothy Bako of Cleveland, Ohio and Elizabeth Sanna of Johnstown, Pa.; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral was held Saturday at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling. Funeral Mass was held at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Norman Avenue, Roebling. Burial was in the parish cemetery.


Doris H. Angelini



   Doris H. Angelini (nee Bell), 69, of Florence died Jan. 2 at Lourdes Hospital in Willingboro, Born in Roebling, she lived in the Roebling and Florence area all of her life.
   She was a member of the Roebling Historical Society, and a former member of the Florence Township Chapter of Deborah but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
   Daughter of the late William and Leona Ingling Bell, sister of the late William Bell, Jean Prettyman, Betty DeVuono and Barbara Carriger, and wife of the late Paul Angelini, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Richard Vogel of Ft. Washington, Pa. and a son, Jay Cardis of Burlington; a sister, Evelyn Delamater of Santa Ana, Calif.; an aunt, Martha McConnell of Burlington; three grandchildren, Andre and Matthew Cardis of Burlington and Stephanie Vogel of Ft. Washington and two great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Mackenzie Cardis.
   The funeral was held Monday at The Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W. Front St., Florence. Interment was in Odd fellows Cemetery, Burlington.

Roland Mackintosh



   Roland (Shorty) Mackintosh Jr., 79, of Mansfield Township, died Jan. 2 at home.
   Born in Moorestown, he lived in Mt. Holly and Roebling before moving to Mansfield 12 years ago. Mr. Mackintosh retireed 20 years ago as a house painter with Sabo Painting in Roebling after 20 years service. He was a member of the American Citizens Slovak Club and a social member of the VFW Post 8838, both in Roebling, and enjoyed gardening, playing darts and billiards.
   He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bertha Bihlear Mackintosh; father of Ronnie Mackintosh of Roebling, William Mackintosh of Pemberton, Barbara and Robert Mackintosh, both of Mansfield, Daniel Mackintosh of Florence, Kenneth Mackintosh of Hammonton and the late Patricia Mackintosh. He is also the brother of William, Kenneth, Ronald, Robert, James, Virginia, Dorothy, Kay and Betty. Also 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were held Friday at the Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W. Front St., Florence with Rev. John Grove, pastor of the Columbus Baptist Church. Private interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington.
   Contributions in his memory may be given to the family for a special project.
Charles A. Terry



   Charles A. Terry, 65, of Mt. Holly, died Dec. 31 as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Rt. 541 in Westampton.
   Born in Phillipsburg and raised in Bordentown, he lived in various parts of the country during his military career service. He served in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army for a total of 22 years and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was an exempt fireman of the Consolidated Fire Co. in Bordentown and enjoyed watching car racing and doing crossword puzzles.
   He is survived by two daughters, Linda Terry and Connie Terry both of Altoona, Pa., and two sons, Anthony Terry and Patrick Terry both of Mt. Holly. Also a special niece, Donna Terry of Mt. Holly; a brother and sister–in-law, John and Mabel Terry of Trenton; a sister, Dorothy Short of South Carolina and other nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were held on Tuesday at The Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W. Front St., Florence with Rev. Ivo Meilands, pastor of the Providence Presbyterian Church of Flroence, officiating.
   Interment was in Doyle Veterans memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
